Every fitting job is priced on its own survey, and the figure is confirmed for that job before anything is booked. There is no set price list.
- Security lighting: from £80; £80 for up to 1 outdoor lights, then £63 per additional outdoor lights.
- The fitting, the wall it sits on and the cable run all change the figure.
- A like for like swap of an old floodlight is simpler than lighting a new position.

## When a floodlight is the right fitting

A PIR floodlight suits a doorway, a side passage, a shop entrance or a yard. It lights a wide area the moment someone walks into its path.
- **Doorway and entrance cover:** One fitting above a door or beside a gate lights the step, the lock and the approach, so callers and keys are easy to see after dark.
- **Yards and forecourts:** A wider floodlight on an outside wall covers a work yard or parking area. We set the sensor so passing traffic on the road does not switch it on.
- **When something smaller suits:** Where a soft light is enough for a path or patio, we will say so. A floodlight is the right call where bright cover matters.

## What happens on the day

Most single floodlights are done in one visit. We mark the position with you, turn the circuit off, fit the light, then test the sensor with you.
- **Position marked first:** We hold the fitting where you want cover, check the sensor will see the approach and mark the fixing point before drilling.
- **Wired and fixed:** The cable path is chosen to stay tidy and out of reach of damage, the light is fixed and the supply connected.
- **Sensor set and tested:** We walk the covered area with you, set how long the light stays on and adjust the sensor so it answers movement where you need it.

## Security lighting questions

### Can a floodlight go on a post instead of a wall?

Yes, where a post or outbuilding gives a better view of the approach. The fixing still needs a cable run back to a suitable supply, and we will confirm what works for that position before work is booked.

### Will the light come on every time a car passes?

It should not. The sensor is aimed at the area you want covered and its range is set during the visit, so movement on the road or pavement outside does not switch it.

### Do you fit lights a customer has already bought?

Often, yes, provided the fitting is weatherproof and suited to the position. We check it on the survey and say plainly if a different fitting would serve the spot better.

### What happens if the wall is awkward to fix to?

We carry fixings for brick, render and timber, and will say on the survey if a position needs a different approach, such as a post or a soffit mount.

### Is this only for homes?

No. We fit security lighting for shops, workshops and yards as well as houses, and calls are answered for domestic, commercial and landlord work alike.
